Alan Jones and Jo Durie
Some younger coaches may not be familiar with the above names who spent a major period of time as the dominating force of coach and tennis player back in the 80's. Alan was and still is a very respected coach, Jo was British ladies No.1 and reached an incredible No.4 World ranking.

Alan and Jo both viewed the system in La Manga during a visit there last summer. Both who now run a very exciting full time academy in London are both supporters of the systems. We are now working heavily with Mark Sheppard who is the head Fitness Coach to design a programme that fits in with the philosophy of the Academy. We are looking at not only wide base drills but also tennis specific drills that could benefit the very talented squad that includes Elena Baltacha.

Mark Sheppard carrys out seminars for EIS (The English Institute Of Sport) based around Ti Chi and movement. The London based Academy is sponsored by FCUK and have a very professional set up.

Sports Scientist were busy at work during my visit to the Academy and there was a real positive feel within the team". Alan and Jo often take a select squad over to the LTA winter base and plans of taking a Footsport coach along to the training camp is an exciting prospect.
